As its literal meaning, INDICE STUDIO serves as a social commentary, guiding viewers to look beyond mere surface of things.
Founded in Luzhou, Taipei in 2017, Hao Lee’s deconstructed approach to combining suiting fabric with workwear elements redefines the style of a contemporary self-maker. Neo-selfmaker, a new breed of independency that reflects Lee himself, has been feeding inspiration to his design at large. With this unique approach to contemporary design, Lee’s debut collection in Paris won INDICE STUDIO Lane Crawford Creative Call Out 2017.
Growing up in a Chinese society that was colonized by Japan and fueled by American culture, Lee’s ever-evolving self-discovery into the complex structure of his background reflects on his physical work, which sparks a strong sense of grassroots struggle in this multi-cultural world.
